Overview
LFT®PPS-NA-LGF is glass reinforced PPS compound, which is filled with glass fiber based on the PPS resin. The characteristic of PPS compounds includes good mechanical properties, high rigidity, high creep resistance, high temperature resistance, flame resistance, chemical resistance, excellent electrical insulation properties, arc resistance, low water absorption, low mold shrinkage, easy processing, good dimensional stability, and radiation resistance.
Owing to its high performance, LFT®PPS-NA-LGF is widely used in space aviation, chemical, electronic appliances, mechanical, automobile, railway fields etc. It can be used to make elements where high temperature resistance, electrical insulation are all-important in aviation; anticorrosion valves and electrical insulating parts; precise plugs; parts of engines, terminal etc.
Difference between PPS and PPA
Although PPS and PPA are both high-performance engineering plastics, there are still clear differences between them in some aspects:
- Chemical structure: the main chain of PPS contains sulfur atoms, and the main chain of PPA contains amide groups, which determines their differences in physical properties and chemical properties.
- Different heat resistance: although both have excellent heat resistance, but the high temperature resistance of PPS is more prominent, can be used at higher temperatures for a long time.
- Mechanical properties: PPA high temperature nylon than PPS material mechanical properties are better, with higher tensile strength (23°C to 200°C) and higher weld strength.
- Dimensional stability and flame retardant: PPS water absorption is very low, has better dimensional stability than PPA; PPS flame retardant has more advantages, PPS has self-extinguishing, its flame retardant can reach UL94 V-0 level.
