PPA, full name polyphthalamide, is a semi-aromatic polyamide with no less than 55% terephthalic acid or phthalic acid as raw material, commonly known as aromatic high temperature nylon. Long-term operating temperature up to 180℃, short-term temperature resistance up to 290℃, with high modulus, high hardness, high cost performance, low water absorption, dimensional stability and excellent weldability and other advantages. PPA has better mechanical properties and high temperature resistance than traditional aliphatic nylon (PA6/PA66) materials. PPA material water absorption is relatively low, the product has good dimensional stability, and has good corrosion resistance.
Glass fiber reinforced PPA composite material has high temperature resistance, high strength and low density, and is considered to be the best resin to replace steel with plastic. Compared with the traditional short fiber reinforced granules, the long glass fiber reinforced PPA composites have better physical and mechanical properties.
Because high temperature nylon can withstand high strength, high load, high temperature and other harsh environments, it is very suitable for engine areas (such as engine cover, switches and connectors) as well as transmission systems (such as bearing cages), air systems (such as exhaust control systems) and intake devices and other parts of the application.
